    Noise: Five Minute Friday Link-Up

This post is part of Five Minute Fridays Link-Ups. Here is my post for this week’s prompt: Time begins now…. Today I ran errands alone and didn’t turn on the car radio. I didn’t listen to a podcast or an audio book. I didn’t even have Siri give me directions except on a very short jaunt to the UPS store that I hadn’t been to before. Maybe it seems like a small thing, to just sit in silence, but it seems like these days we always have some kind of background noise going. My children listen to audio books while…

Reading Report, Vol. 24: January Progress and February Goals

It has been an unseasonably warm few days here in our little part of Colorado, sunny and balmy and quite spring-like! The kids and I have been taking our school books outside by mid-morning so that we can enjoy the fresh air and sunshine before more snow and cold returns. Here is my post for this week’s prompt: Time begins now… When I saw today’s prompt of “favor“, I immediately thought of God’s favor and grace in salvation. Because I have been studying I Peter 1 lately, I have been considering God’s goodness in sovereignly sending His Son to die in my place. In I Peter 1, we see that it is also God’s grace that leads us to obedience and holiness. It is…

    Goals and Intentions for 2025

Hello again, readers! Here we are, a few weeks into the new year, and perhaps the shine has already begun to wear off a little for some of you. I know that we are now over a week past what is now dubbed “Quitter’s Day”, the day when most average folks give up those fabulous New Year’s resolutions they made with such high hopes. I am also aware than many people who have slightly more realistic expectations don’t make resolutions but do set some time aside to reflect on ways to improve themselves going forward. In recent years, I have…
