The Literary Life 20 for 2020 Reading Challenge: My Book Picks

The lovely ladies on The Literary Life Podcast are hosting a reading challenge this year, and, of course, I had to join in! Yes, I joined partly because I love them (and work with them and got the list early), but mostly it was because the categories on this list are simply amazing! One of my other book goals this year is to read more from my shelves here at home. In light of that, I tried to plug in as many titles that I own as I could. A Brand New, Shiny Year

Ah, hello there, poor neglected blog and readers! I bet you thought I’d completely forgotten you and would never return! But no, I have thought of writing so very many times, and I simply kept talking myself out of it. The longer I am away, the harder it always seems to return. But life got so busy that I just haven’t…

    Retreat, Refresh, Regroup

This week I have been in eager anticipation of the AmblesideOnline Camp Meeting retreat that is taking place this weekend. Even though the retreat is taking place a mere 30 minutes from my house, I am eager for this opportunity to get away from the normal routine of daily life. Being the first time I have ever left my kids overnight since becoming a mom, I do feel a little bit giddy and yet anxious at the same time. I know they will be fine with their dad here manning the ship, but it is still a big first for…

    April 2019 Memory Work Plans

Spring is officially here! But I know that many of us still have cold snap or two in our futures before it really feels like warmer weather is here to stay. Nonetheless, in our area the fruit trees are blooming, the birds are singing before sunrise, and the grass weeds are turning green. This year, with Easter Sunday happening in April, and two family birthdays before that, we have a month full of celebrations and busyness ahead. But I couldn’t forget to create new memory work plans for us, and for you! This is not a particularly thematic set of…
