But God: Five Minute Friday Link-up

This post is part of Five Minute Fridays Link-Ups. Here is my post for this week’s prompt:

Time begins now….

When I saw today’s prompt was “But”, at first I thought of all the excuses I make. I know I should do something, but….

Then I was reminded of the fact that in our weakness God is strong. So instead I decided to write on the But God statements that encourage me and keep my going when I am not strong enough in myself. (Which is all of the time!)

I am often inconsistent and unfaithful, but God is always faithful and true.

I am a lowly sinner, so unworthy, but God calls me His child and redeemed me from my sin.

I am often discouraged and downhearted, but God is my comfort and my hope. In Him there is fullness of joy.

I am weak and inadequate, but God is strong and able to do all things.

I am not sure of the next step I should take, but God holds my future in His hands and is preparing the way for me even when I cannot see.

I am still so far from being who I am meant to be, but God is at work in my life and will bring to fullness every good and perfect plan He has for me.

I fail every day, but God has never failed me yet and He is perfect.

Thank you, Lord, for being faithful to me. You are so good and so worthy of all my praise!

Time is up….

  1. Thank you for your visit, earlier. No matter the hardships or disappointments, the But God’s of life are always there to provide a light landing.

  3. Love “I am not sure of the next step I should take, but God holds my future in His hands and is preparing the way for me even when I cannot see.”
I can so relate to this post.
    Thanks for sharing.

  4. I blunder on with dying grace,
    a laughing singing cancer’d clown
with a smile upon my face
’cause I know that God won’t let me down
    even though it’s looking bad
    (fell yesterday atop some steel),
but there’s no reason to be sad
for someday He is gonna heal
    every single laceration,
    every tumour, body, soul
    and will bring the transformation
that I can be forever whole,
so meanwhile at death I will scoff
and drive it ’till the wheels fall off.

  5. Great post! So good to remind ourselves of the truth when the negative gets us down. Very grateful that the Lord has given us a very long book full of truth for each and every fear. Thanks for sharing.

Kath, your FMF neighbour at #12 this week.
